The Fault In Our Stars

Despite the tumor-shrinking medical miracle that has bought her a few years. Hazel has never been anything but terminal, her final chapter inscribed upon diagnosis. But when a gorgeous plot twist named Augustus Waters suddenly appears at Cancer Kid Support Group, Hazel’s story is about to be completely rewritten.

My Thoughts

I decided to read this book due to the movie being released. I also have been wanting to read this book for some time. The fault in our stars is based on Hazel’s POV. I liked Hazel (Hazel Grace) and Augustus (Gus). I know a lot of people say the book is unrealistic because of how they talk: such as they give long speeches with deep meaning. To me that is what made me fall in love with their characters. Hazel’s personality is that she is real, throughout the book she does not sugarcoat anything, she knows she has cancer and she is going to die. Augustus is pretty much the male version of Hazel. There is a romance in the book between Hazel and Augustus which is instant love. The love between them felt like true love. The romance to me was the main focus. It is what helped Hazel grow throughout the book. The book seems plausible to me. It showed the life of two teens, whom have cancer and what they go through. I like John Greens writing style. It was not an action packed book. That being said it was also not slow paced book either. Once I started reading, I was addicted and could barely put the book down. I would recommend this book to people who want a good book to cry to. Be warned this book is an emotion rollercoaster.
